Job Description


The key functions are to review various SCADA/SCMS schemes in the existing network as well as new projects planned by ADDC or Developers. Activities will also include the review and approval of proposed design by bulk customers related to automation of distribution substations with special emphasis on Network Management Division requirements.


2.1 Review and approval of non standard SCADA/SCMS schemes usually associated with large complex electricity projects. Activities include the review of proposals to ensure that they are consistent with ADDC’s SCADA/SCMS strategy.

2.2 Prepare RIT for required SCADA/SCMS modifications in existing substations due to any modification as well as for any new substation requirement in coordination with relevant departments.

2.3 Assisting the other technical service Engineers for establishing correct SCADA/SCMS schemes for existing network as well as in the additional network where there is a non standard solution required.

2.4 Co-ordinate with Electricity Operations and Maintenance for improvements in the existing SCADA/SCMS scheme.

2.5 Review Preliminary Design Reports prepared by ADDC and/or ADWEA consultants to ensure that the scope and specifications of proposed SCADA/SCMS schemes by those bodies comply with the requirements identified by the Asset Management Directorate.

2.6 Coordinate with ADDC’s consultants and developer’s consultants, on matters relating to the responsibilities of the Electricity Engineering and Studies Section.

2.7 Coordinate with other departments and undertake technical and commercial bid evaluations for SCADA/SCMS related projects. Assist other technical service engineers to evaluate SCADA/SCMS related matters in their respective projects.

2.8 Arrange occasional site visits to identify and then check on changes in the scope of work, if any, during project implementation.

2.9 Continually review advances in SCADA/SCMS technology to maintain up to date system standards.


3.1 Has regular contact with the Senior Technical Services Engineer to receive work directions and discuss issues. 

3.2 Has frequent contacts with the Electricity Network Development Section, Electricity Connection Planning Section, and Electricity Network Strategy & Planning Section, Asset Specs & Standards Section.

3.3 Has frequent contacts with the Network Management Division, ADWEA, TRANSCO, Developers, contractors/consultants and SCADA/SCMS equipment suppliers.

Desired Candidate Profile


Bachelor in Electrical/Communication Engineering or equivalent

7 years experience in work related activities.

Good knowledge in English and/or Arabic languages read & write.
